The information here will be useful for couples wishing to marry on the Sunshine Coast.

After reading the documentation on this page, you can download the necessary form for the Notice Of Intended Marriage below. Please print the entire form, fill it in, sign it, and have it witnessed by one of the people listed at the bottom of the form. You can then either fax it or post it to me. The form must be sent to me at least 1 month plus 1 day before the wedding day, along with an AU$50 booking fee.

Documentation which must be sighted by the Celebrant BEFORE the wedding:

A "Notice of Intended Marriage" which must be provided to the Celebrant not less than one month and one day and not more than eighteen months before the wedding date. This form is downloadable below.
Evidence of birth, which should be an original certificate of birth or an original extract of an entry of birth in an official register, or a passport if born overseas.
Divorcees: In Australia, the Decree Absolute - an acceptable form from other countries. Some countries do not permit divorce and Australia will not accept documentation from them. If in any doubt, please ask, as no problem should be impossible to solve.
Widowed: The Death Certificate.
Change of Name: The Deed Poll or Licence.
Persons under the age of 18. Please ask for advice, as the rules are strict and permission from a court may have to be obtained. Marriages between two people under the age of 18 are prohibited in Australia.

Other basic information

The Ceremony. I have several sample wedding ceremonies for you to look through if you wish. These are intended as a guide and are available on request.
Witnesses. Two people over 18 to act as witnesses to the wedding.
